First Impression: Windows 7 RTM

Microsoft has finalized the code of Windows 7 and released it to manufactures (RTM)! This means that build 7600 is the final Windows 7 product. The Windows Team Blog has a great post describing when you will be able to get your hands on Windows 7 RTM. This depends if you are a manufacturer, TechNet or MSDN subscriber, partner, etc.

First Impression
I have had the privilege to take a look at the final build of Windows 7 and let me make it clear that it is NOT another Vista! The install on a virtual machine with 1GB of RAM and a 2.53GHz CPU took less than 20 minutes! Once on the desktop you will notice a nice fresh Windows 7 install that actually runs smooth!

Now that Windows 7 is out I will proceed to test and play with every part I can possibly tweak and modify. Stay tuned for daily updates on my findings.
